ABOUT GNAW THE PAW...

Lulu Fox and Frida Bear are currently trapped in office buildings. One of each of their paws is chained to a desk because they need to pay their rent, utilities, and credit card debt. They will gnaw the paw off, if they have to, to free themselves. Being paw-less is better than living a life of indentured servitude.

Before they can gnaw the paw off, however, they need to figure out a way to make a living without the desk. They want to become free animals prancing in the forest!

Their real names and locations are undisclosed for the protection of their jobs. They still need to pay their bills. When they start making a living off this blog and their other talents - which go way beyond licking and stamping envelopes, printing out files, and regurgitating what’s in their bosses’ brains - they will share their true identities.

Please stay tuned…

Online Diversions

If you are lucky, your computer screen is out of the general view - or even luckier, you might have your own office. Still, you must be prepared for your boss or your office mate to surprise you, especially while deeply concentrating on updating your MySpace layout. In such a situation, be sure to have an Excel spreadsheet or a Word document strategically sized and placed above your browser or messenger window so you can hide with the simple click of a mouse. Below are some fun and easy online diversions:
  • instant messenger
  • role-playing games, such as Sims Online (because who has time to experience real life when you’re spending most of it inside an office building?)
  • MySpace / Facebook / Friendster (because who has time anymore to network in person over cocktails? send each other virtual drinks and business cards!)
  • Wikipedia (to keep yourself educated while your brain rots away doing mindless paperwork)
  • Neatorama.com/BoingBoing.com (to share better stories to the office break room - who wants to hear about the grapes on sale this week at the local grocery store, or the new episode of American Idol?)
  • Ebay (because who has time to shop at stores when you’re working full time?)
We welcome any additional suggestions for online diversions.
